Hundige Strand Camping is the loveliest oasis you will find during your holiday, on your way to the centre of Copenhagen. We are proud to be Denmark's oldest camp site, we have been here since 1926 – we are a campsite with history. We have kept the atmosphere where the blackbirds sit at the top of large old trees and sing in the evening sun, while the children who have returned from the beach play in the playground and the grill gets hot.
We have it all, history, atmosphere, beach, town and nature.
We love sun, summer, and the beach here at Hundige Strand Camping – fortunately, we have plenty of it!
Hundige Strand Camping is situated next to Køge Bay, with easy access to an 8 km long child-friendly sandy beach and beautiful nature. You can rent SUP and sit-on-top kayaks at the campsite.

Take a walk on the beach, get your heart rate right down and soak up the sun. Strandparken is buzzing with bees and grasshoppers and the smell of stone clover and rose hip brings back childhood summers.
Children playing, sunshine, and togetherness – that’s the essence of summer vacation. At Hundige Strand Camping, there are activities for children of all ages, including their parents and grandparents. Watersports, beach, a marina, and a huge natural area are right across the road from the campsite.
If you want to alternate between nature and city, you can easily and quickly reach the beautiful and lively capital city, Copenhagen.
The first thing you will meet as a guest at Hundige Strand Camping is the helpful staff who contribute to the relaxed atmosphere of the park-like campsite.
Once you have unpacked, all the facilities, activities and experiences are right at your feet. There are shopping opportunities and restaurants within walking distance, and children have their own playground with bouncy cushions, cages with rabbits and funny squirrels. Bikes, SUP, sit-on-top kayaks are available for rent, and a mini golf is available as well. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are available free of charge to the campsite’s guests.
If you’re looking for city experiences, you can easily vary the beautiful tranquil surroundings with a trip to Copenhagen. It’s only a 20-minute drive by car, approximately 30 minutes by public transportation, or about a 19 km bike ride.
The design and layout of the site have been maintained with respect for history – it’s a responsibility to be Denmark’s oldest campsite. If you’re looking for a campsite on Zealand (Sjælland), we can definitely find a perfect spot for you.
While staying at Hundige Strand Camping, you might as well visit our beautiful capital Copenhagen.
We recommend to leave the car and take the train to Copenhagen with a departure every 10 minutes during daytime and every 20 minutes at night. The station is only a 15 minutes walk from Hundige Strand Camping, and the trip by train takes ca. 25-30 minutes.
